Blackboard Learn Update
While we have gotten over the start of a semester with a new LMS, we are now setting up testing and
staging systems in order to expand the functionality of Bb Learn. We have at least 17 extended features on
our roadmap that we want to add to Learn but we must have the place to test those new features before we
roll them out to campus. The first set of projects to finish this Spring include:
1) An improved Visual Text Box Editor that will allow a clean copy and paste of Microsoft Word text into
Bb Learn
2) Kaltura plug-in that manages digital video “galleries” for instruction
3) Bb Collaborate (to replace Wimba) for web conferencing (audio and video), online office hours, and
virtual classroom (presentations, web tours, and/or application sharing)
4) Improved reporting and statistics of LMS usage across the campus
5) Investigate the features and potential for “portfolios” and assessment views/reporting that span
across courses
