Project Timelines

Student Wellness and Sports Education
- Discussions occurred related to a juice bar for the building.
- The completion date has slipped. The CM has been instructed to accelerate the work and
have doubled staff on the site.
3.
Biological Sciences Building
- No changes from last month.
- Still on schedule for completion in February 2012.
- Currently being closed in and dry-walled.
- It was noted that construction vehicles in the roadway are causing pedestrian and
vehicular problems and will be discussed with the construction managers.
4.
Education Building: DRC, OCT, Veterans Services and Leadership Institute Offices
- No changes from last month.
- The steel is up and the building should be closed in by the end of the month.
- Substantial completion is scheduled for October 2011.
5.
Science & Engineering Remedial Work
- No changes from last month.
- Currently scaffolding the north and west side facades.
- Completion is scheduled for December 2011.
6.
Dining Facility
- Currently on schedule.
- Funding and costs will be discussed at a meeting today.
- Zak Ovadia presented the new conceptual drawings. Current plans include the dining
facility on the first and second floors with the Faculty Association and Campus Planning,
Design and Construction occupying the 3rd floor and a faculty lounge and special event
space for 266 seats on the 4th floor.
- Substantial completion is scheduled for August 2012.
7.
Programming for Buildings 3, 4 and 50
- Campus Planning, Design and Construction met with the COAS and CCEC to review a
block diagram for changes in all 3 buildings. Once the concept has been finalized, the
long range planning for buildings 3 and 4 will begin.
8.
Bat House
- Construction should begin in 2 weeks.
9.
NE Connector Road
- Zak Ovadia presented a drawing of the planned connector road which would be paved.
- Lot 34 behind the Arena would also be paved to provide better parking.
10.
Sculpture on Campus
- Jennifer Hager updated the committee on the campus art sculptures. Installation is
scheduled for this Friday. Locations for the sculptures include in front of the Library, in
front of the COEHS building, in front of the Arena parking garage and at the North Lot
round-about.
