Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting 7/1/2015 Attendance: Jessica, Kevin T, Kevin K, Ron, Loren, Ray, Rick, Kelli, Doug 1. Current Projects a. Vangstad i. At yesterday’s meeting they discussed all of the change orders and taking some of the auditorium and tuck-pointing out of the project. There will need to be some major shifting of funds. ii. Window replacement is going well- we are keeping some of the odd sizes for use in other buildings. iii. Sheetrock should be finished up this week. iv. Chiller will be here tomorrow. v. They are working on getting the storm sewer finished up. vi. There are funds to repair the downspout (take budget from gutter replacement). b. Student Center Upper Lounge i. The plans are all in and Pat will get them out for bid. Doesn’t need to follow the mandatory bid process so should have numbers next week. c. Flood Wall i. Started footings going east of the pump station- should finish up today. ii. Manhole is set for the storm sewer. iii. Ron talked to MDU and gave them a heads up of what we will need for the new heat plant. d. Climate Control Upgrade i. Got all the small buildings done, working on Rhoades now. There’s a little bit of work to do in Kolstoe and Snoey. e. McCoy/Snoey Basketball Court i. Waiting for bids from Johnson and Wick. ii. Use some of our old steam piping and weld it together for 2 hoops. f. Back Alley i. Hopefully Enterprise Electric will start next week. ii. Will need to put some concrete posts by the old ramp to the carpenter shop so people don’t park there. g. Hill slide Waterfall i. On hold h. McFarland 1st floor Water-proofing i. Received 2 bids- will be awarded to Wick next week. i. President’s House Retaining Wall i. Project started 6/26 with removing the tree. Bradco will start main work early this week. ii. Starting 17’ from the corner and they will do some tuck-pointing in the cracked area. j. Field House Addition i. Received plans from Kerri yesterday and they were finalized- will go out to bid next week. 2. 3. 4. 5. k. Graichen Gym Floor i. Floor is done. All traffic needs to stay off until next Wednesday. l. Wellness Center i. Project is progressing- no concerns at this time. m. Heat Plant i. Successfully purchased to pieces of property- waiting on the final area. ii. CMAR- bid opening the 7th- would like to have them hired by the 14th. iii. Ron will contact Dave to set up a meeting time- and there are concerns with the timeline being pushed back too far due to the delays with property buyouts. n. Circle Hall i. On hold until mid-July o. SEGS Office Remodel i. Sheetrock is up in the new offices. There is still work to do in the new office and main area. Carpet was delivered yesterday- will be a couple weeks before it can be installed. p. Housing i. Mythaler and President’s House Sewer Line 1. Timeline? Pat will contact H.A. Thompson ii. McCoy & Robertson Guest Suites 1. Pat will work on a timeline iii. Robertson & Mythaler Fire Alarm Upgrade 1. Simplex came down in price and we aren’t doing a performance bond. We will do a contract with Enterprise Electric less the performance bond. There will be no change orders for this project to keep it under $100,000. Future Projects a. Fine Arts Building i. On hold Events (Kelli) a. Softball camp is underway. b. LOS camp is 7/8-9 c. Foundation wants to have a December 17th Graduation in Vangstad- Kim wants to have a meeting with Ron and Doug. i. EBCs want to have their show on the 12th, but not as much concern about this event. d. Inauguration Safety a. Department Training i. Module instructions will be sent 7/1- will not be available to start until 7/3. b. Online Defensive Driving Course- training for administration yesterday and today. FAMIS a. Physical Inventory is complete. Store is open today and there were no issues. b. Wayne did very well with the inventory. c. FY 15 Work Orders were closed out and new FY16 long-term work orders are entered. There is now a separate work order for custodial supplies and custodial equipment. 6. Building Services a. Snoey needs to have a timeline for tub repairs so they know which areas to clean. b. Looking for a status on the leak in Rhoades- JLG is calling JP Structure. When water was ran outside it did not come into the building. 7. Maintenance a. Ray will contact housing to find out when University Housing is open to replace more sets of windows. b. Discuss accreditation issues with Pat when he is back. Jessica switched that work order over to a project in FAMIS. c. Kevin K: when there are many individual work orders in one building what’s the best way to enter time? Continue to enter on each individual work order, even if it’s only 15 minutes per WO. 8. Power House a. Got thermostat moved in SEGS office. b. Fins are being but pack in the boiler at the Field House. c. Boiler 3 was pitted more so they need to talk to the chemical guy to see if there is a fix for that to keep it lasting longer. d. Ron would like to use the camera in some of the tubes. e. Wayne is going to order the yellow paint for painting lines and curbs. 9. Other a. Bright Energy i. Picked up another rebate for the can lights that have been put in. ii. They are looking at plans for Vangstad, Power House and Field House to see what she can find for more rebates. b. Department Openings i. Power House position c. Thank you from Ron for all the endeavors put into helping move McFarland 4th floor. It was a lot of work and thanks for all the hard work! d. Ron took a look at Jessica’s safety modules she created and it is good information. e. Anchor Award: a winner was chosen yesterday by the committee and will be announced today. There were only 2 nominations again. Please nominate your peers if you feel they deserve the award. Remember if we have 2 or less nominations for 3 consecutive months the award will end. We have had 2 for the past 2 months.
