Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting 12/2/2015 9:30 am Kevin K, Rick, Loren, Pat, Drew, Daryl, Ron, Jessica, Kelli 1. Current Projects a. Vangstad i. We are stuck with the original color carpet. The curtains will be burgundy, too. ii. The last ceiling grid is being installed and they are doing wall touch-ups in the basement. iii. Mechanical is done until they can get air balancers in. The fin tube units were shipped and they will be here early next week. iv. Signage- Wesley emailed the individuals in the building to work on the names they want on their signs. v. They will start the final cleaning next week. vi. Contractor vehicles will be moved in two weeks. We will be reviewing the space tomorrow. b. Flood Wall i. No update c. Wellness Center i. No update d. Heat Plant i. Ron will be going to another meeting in Fargo on Thursday. ii. The permit for running the current boiler is almost complete. We will be the first university in the state to be in compliance with the new federal regulations on coal boilers. e. Back Alley i. We will be meeting tomorrow to come up with a plan for state fleet parking. f. Lighting i. New light fixtures have been shipped and they will be here soon. Ron will work with the City to get them installed as soon as possible. g. Housing i. No update h. Master Plan i. No update i. Circle Hall Elevator Repairs i. OTIS is coming today or tomorrow to look over all of the equipment and get materials ordered. The repair will happen sometime in 2016. Campus will be notified as soon as we have a timeline. ii. The new materials being put in the elevator will communicate with our Simplex system in the building- this is a feature we don’t currently have. j. Student Center Kitchen Ceiling i. Ron ordered 2 new light fixtures- Ron or Pat need to be informed when they arrive. They are from Graybar. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. ii. December 8th b. First snowfall yesterday. There were a few mechanical issues but it was taken care of. Thank you for helping with shoveling at your buildings but please also remember to lay ice melt after shoveling as well. Continue to monitor through the day as well as temperatures change. c. Pat will put together a snow removal responsibility sheet. i. How to address snowfall during the day as well. d. Note to tell the evening/night employees not to drive the cart on the sidewalks when there’s snow on the ground. e. Pat will visit with Stephanie to discuss RAs helping with ice melt and such on the weekends. f. Reminder to Powerhouse (with new personnel) to call the crew at 4am if snow is falling overnight. Meeting times will be switched to every other week since projects are slowing down and there aren’t as many updates. There was unanimous approval from the group today to move forward with this immediately. i. This can change at any time if we need to have more meetings. b.
