Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting- Agenda

Attendance: Ray, Drew, Wayne, Pat, Jessica, Ron, Kelli, Fred, Kevin K
1. Other
a. Building Supervisor Position
i. Still waiting on Cabinet approval of salary range. Doug informed us today it has
been approved.
ii. We plan to ask Kim Hesch or Rhonda Fairfield to chair the committee and have
two FS employees be a part of the search, and a representative from housing.
b. Safety Survey
i. Review results- will look at going towards the populous information for training.
c. Performance Appraisal
i. Pat and Fred both have theirs out. Should be in on the 11th and have until the
25th to complete. Employees fill out sections 1 and 2, place comments where
specified for employees.
1. Encourage group members to attend meetings set up by HR in regards
to this in the future.
2. Fred mentioned his employees would like to wait until after they hear
about Market Value from Jennifer Larson on 3/11 meeting to complete
their reviews.
d. Project Estimates and Billing
i. A new fund was requested to be set up for repair services. Please give estimates
out when doing work so there isn’t a surprise when they receive the bill.
Material AND labor will be billed from now on.
2. Current Projects
a. Vangstad
i. Still waiting for drawings on how to reinforce the walls.
ii. Drew and Kevin moved the organ blower on Monday with no problems.
iii. There are seats up in the Auditorium that will need to be removed and stored in
the Theatre portion of the storage building.
b. McCoy/Snoey Basketball Court
i. No update
c. Field House Lower Level & Lobby (Spring Break)
i. Awarded to Richard O’Brien. Lobby will be done during Spring Break and will be
ready before students are back. Can start placing scaffolding on Friday when
students are leaving for break.
d. Student Center Upper Lounge
i. No updates
e. Back Alley
i. No updates
f. President’s Office
i. Trim will be stained today, carpet will be installed Friday or Monday. Ray was
able to screw down the floor to help eliminate squeaking.
ii. Richard still needs to adjust doors/ drawers and mount hardware.
iii. No update from Larry on the desk for the President.
iv. Pat: we should order ceiling clips for the tiles, they still are not lying flat.
v. Will need to order the panel kit for the door- could take 4 to 6 weeks since it will
be a special order.
g. Hill Slide Waterfall
i. No update
3. Future Projects
a. Fine Arts Building
i. No update
b. Heat Plant
i. Ron has sent out 7 RFGs and has a meeting on Thursday with HGA. He is also
working with Lightower Johnson next week. He thinks everyone on the list will
want to meet to discuss the project.
c. Wellness Center
i. Ron found out we need to have a 50’ wide area between the Garage going north
to dig the new force main. We won’t clear the area until after the bid opening.
ii. Force main would be started May 1st. Keep think ing about ideas of where to put
the Greenhouse.
1. Could be moved to the playground area of student housing

a. Flood Wall
i. No updates
b. Track
i. Ron should have the results back from the boring by end of week.
c. Field House Addition
i. Ron is going to meet with Michael J Burns (Architect) next week.
d. Graichen Gym/ Field House Floors
i. Ron received pictures from the contractors. He will share them soon.
5. Events
a. 4H is set for judging this weekend. Kelli met with Dean Aakre to discuss needs.
6. Other
a. Wayne: thank you to safety and fs management for the new palate lift. It was used to
put a poorly packed palate into central stores and worked great!
b. Ron: we still need volunteers for the awards system we’d like to put in place. Still
looking into options/ ideas as to how to do it.
i. Fred requested the group that attends these weekly meetings be the
representatives.
ii. The group would meet outside of this weekly meeting time.
c. Jessica: sent a new calendar invite for the monthly department meeting on 3/11 from
2:45-3:45. 3/12 will be the meeting to discuss the Staff Senate survey that was sent out.
d. Fred: simplex is down right now- notify the PH is an alarm goes off today.

employees may attend this meeting if you choose*
