Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting

Attendance: Fred, Ray, Ron, Pat, Jessica, Kelli, Rick, Kevin T
1. Current Projects
a. Vangstad
i. We did the first pour yesterday- 2 south classrooms and the pad for air pump
for the pipe organ. Ron will organize Drew and Kevin to put the air pump back.
ii. They will be pouring the mechanical room on THURSDAY.
iii. Ron is guessing they will have 3 more pours after today and should be done by
the end of the next week if everything goes as planned.
iv. Fire taping the beams upstairs and putting the steel studs for the offices. The
plumbers are plumbing the bathrooms on 2nd floor. Trying to make sure that
the mechanical and electrical continue to have work to do. HVAC is being
installed in all available areas.
v. L&M will be here Friday to remove the remaining asbestos.
b. Student Center Upper Lounge
i. We should be receiving drawings from Ben soon.
c. Flood Wall
i. There was a meeting yesterday and Ron attended.
ii. The street will likely be closed all summer for the work. Should likely have more
updates soon.
d. Climate Control Upgrade
i. Continue to do software updates from their location. Will be on site in May.
e. President’s Office
i. Pat will be going through with a final checklist before we close out the project.
(Screens need to be cleaned.)
ii. Blinds will be installed within the next week or so.
f. Field House Lower Level & Lobby
i. Walls (insulated) are up and taping is in progress. The electricians are ordering a
couple new lights (LED lights) and the doors are on site. Pat will check in on the
progress.
ii. Jack would like to replace the tile in the entryways because it was broken when
they put in the new doors and we can’t find anything to match. Pat will get
prices to report back- we will put up the cost to replace the tile if they want
anything extra Athletics will need to fund it.
g. McCoy/Snoey Basketball Court
i. No update
h. Back Alley
i. Ron will get the water truck here today hopefully to clean it off. Need help to fill
it up and wash down the alley.
i. Hill slide Waterfall

a. Fine Arts Building
i. No update
b. Heat Plant
i. Met yesterday to discuss who to interview. They will interview 4 firms on the
16th of April. Still waiting on legislative approval.
c. Wellness Center
i. Bid opening this afternoon. Doug will be at that meeting.
Other Projects
a. Track
i. Look at taking up asphalt and repacking the ground- $500,000 saving
b. Field House Addition
i. Meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss hiring an architect.
ii. Is the institution willing to put forward $20,000 for the architect fees? How
much are we risking if we don’t receive funding from the state? Ron will find
out what the breakdown is from the architect.
c. Graichen Gym and Field House Floors
i. No update
Events
a. Kelli can do a dry run of her presentation next week at our management meeting
(marketing plan).
b. Orientation Meeting (first one is on April 10th): make sure campus is cleaned up.
c. Billing
i. Put together a list of events and discuss them at a future date. Utility costs,
staffing, etc.
d. Region II instrumental is next week (April 8th) in the music building and Student Center.
Safety
a. Ergo Equipment
i. Make purchases.
b. Please give any ideas on incentive-type programs that we could implement with the
safety modules in the future. Any ideas you have please talk to Jessica.
FAMIS
a. Job Billing for Labor/Labor Rates
i. Move forward with setting up billing type and will send charges through same
billing as materials. Labor rates have been approved and will be entered into
FAMIS.
ii. Will not be billing for equipment/furniture moves. Will not be double-charging
housing for Building Services labor.
Other
a. Department Awards
i. Kelli will visit with the group today and will be sending an email to the group to
nominate an individual and to explain the award. There will be 12 awards
available and will be reviewed as nominations are received.
ii. Doug is still looking into our options for the awards.
b. Department Meeting Agenda
i. April 9 at 2:45pm. Will be in Rhoades 102.

ii. Will do our position reviews- Kelli and Ron will go first. Go over budget updates
from Doug, project updates from Ron and Pat, the group to discuss the award.
Building Supervisor Position
i. Interviews on Thursday
ii. 3 candidates
Power House position
i. No applicants yet- region has been expanded to reach more people.
Ron: please bring an item/ idea/ comment forward at the meetings. We would like to
see more input from areas.
i. Ray: will need to varnish the doors at the Field House, no stain- leave them
natural.
Lip Dub
i. The group voted to do Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones
ii. Kelli will send an email for volunteers for lead people
iii. Filming will be on 4/23
7:00 Thursday night at City Hall- City discussion meeting regarding the flood wall if
anyone would like to attend and hear more about that project.
