Meeting called to order at 3:45 p.m. by Ronna Vanderslice
Director of Teacher Education Report
A. Update of Oklahoma state requirements – These requirements are written
up for the NCATE visit. Some key changes include: the portfolio process
must begin no later than initial enrollment into professional coursework,
the deletion of a required annual public forum, a new requirement that all
candidates study mental health issues, and the deletion of a requirement
for an annual professional development committee in exchange for a
system for documenting and reporting professional development.
Last month’s meeting minutes were approved.
Admission and Retention Committee Report
The committee moved to accept eleven candidates for full admission to teacher
education in Lawton and two candidates for conditional admission to teacher education
due to lesson plans in Lawton.
The following eleven candidates should be admitted fully: Savanah Dayhoff, Kara Waller,
Marti King, Tatum Nobis, D’Alpha Rodriguez, Stacy Turner, Sandi Williams, Angela
Wilson, Jessica Carter, Ashley Creed, and Matthew Harris.
The following two candidates will be admitted conditionally and must submit an
acceptable lesson plan via Chalk & Wire prior to the end of the fall semester: Allysia
Hughes and Holly Rogers.
The motion was approved.

B. Faculty Development Part B with documentation was due May 15; send
yours if you haven’t already
