College of Arts and Sciences Committee on Academic Programs (ASCAP) Minutes for Meeting of February 10, 2014 A meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129. Committee members present were: Jim Barrick, Scott Baugh, Nelson Dometrius, Brett Houk, Travis Roach, and David Roach. Presentations from Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, English, Mathematics and Statistics, and Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences. 1. Pending further information, the committee voted to table the following proposal from the Department of Biology: Add BIOL 2202 Interdisciplinary Science Issues. 2. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposal from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work: Add ANTH 3315 Food and Culture. 3. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposals from the Department of English: Add Graduate Certificate in Grants and Proposals. Add ENGL 5391 Grants & Proposals for Nonprofits. Add ENGL 5392 Grants & Proposals for the Academy and Industry. 4. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposal from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics: Add STAT 5326 Biostatistics. 5. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposals from the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences: Change ESS 5315 Research Methods I in ESS. Add ESS 5316 Research Methods II in ESS. Add ESS 5353 Assessment of Human Performance. Add ESS 5355 Program Design for Strength and Conditioning. Add ESS 5357 Applied Anatomy and Neuromuscular Performance. 6. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposal from the Department of Environmental Toxicology: Add ENTX 6328. The next regularly scheduled meeting of ASCAP is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2014 for proposals that reach the committee and the Dean’s office by Monday, February 17.
