Minutes for Meeting of March 5, 2012
A scheduled meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129.
Committee members present were: Nelson Dometrius, David Lamp, Chris Monico, Philip Pope, Rich
Rice, and David Roach. Presenters: Drs. Vimalassery and Skidmore (History), Dr. Densmore (Biology),
and Drs. Ramirez and Walter (Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work).
1. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposals from the Department of History:
Change contact hours for HIST 2323 World History Since 1500.
Add HIST 3319 American Migrations.
Add HIST 5363 Women in Early America.
2. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposals from the Department of Biology:
Add BIOL 3306 Plant Biology.
Add ZOOL 6305 Molecular Systematics & Evolution.
3. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposals from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work:
Add SOC 2333 The US Criminal Justice System.
Add SOC 3333 White Collar Economic Crimes.
Add ANTH 3350 Archaeology of Death.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of ASCAP is scheduled for Monday, March 19, for proposals that
reach the committee and the Dean’s office by Monday, March 12.
