Minutes for Meeting of January 28, 2013
A scheduled meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, January 28 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129.
Committee members present were: Gretchen Adams, Erin Collopy, Miles Condon, Nelson Dometrius,
Art Durband, David Lamp, Chris Monico, and David Roach. Presenters: Dr. Lowe (Sociology,
Anthropology, & Social Work), Dr. Hawkins (English), and Dr. Friedman (Classical & Modern
Languages & Literatures).
1. The committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposal
from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, & Social Work:
 Change CIP code for SW 4311 Social Policy & Legislation.
2. The committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following A&S
Interdisciplinary Minor Proposal. The committee included suggestions for the proposal.
 Add A&S Interdisciplinary Minor in Book History.
3. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposal from the Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures:
 Add CLAS 5315 Topics in Classics.
4.
The committee discussed and supported changes in the A&S Language Requirement for the B.S.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of ASCAP is scheduled for Monday, February 11, for proposals
that reach the committee and the Dean’s office by Monday, February 4.
