Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to outline the
dairy industry requirements for a product safety programme,
and outline common hazards and controls associated with
product safety planning in the dairy industry.

Definitions
Legislative requirements include but are not limited to – Animal Products Act 1999,
Animal Products (Dairy) Regulations 2005.
Organisational requirements – refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are documented in memo and/or manual format and are available in the
workplace. These requirements include but are not limited to – site specific
requirements, company quality management requirements, hygiene, health and
safety, regulatory and legislative requirements.
