This unit standard is for employees in dairy companies who work in teams to achieve assigned tasks and/or jobs. Classification Dairy Manufacturing > Dairy People Skills Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Work must be carried out in accordance with organisational requirements, licensing requirements, legislative requirements and industrial awards and agreements, which will vary depending on the workplace in which assessment is taking place. 2 Teams may be a feature of work organisation or formed to address a specific function or issue. 3 Interactive skills include but are not limited to – active listening, turn taking, questioning, and tolerating the views of others. 4 Work procedures are set by the organisation to outline how a task should be undertaken in a particular context. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify work procedures in the dairy industry. Evidence requirements 1.1 Team tasks and responsibilities are identified in accordance with work procedures for allocating tasks and responsibilities. 1.2 The importance of implementing a team approach is explained in terms of completing specific tasks. 1.3 Relevant legislative, organisational and other requirements for the task are identified in terms of applying them to the team environment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Personal workload is scheduled to meet work task requirements set for the team. 2.2 Assistance is requested from other team members as required to meet work task requirements. 2.3 Interactive communication skills are used to participate in team processes. 2.4 Set work tasks are completed within agreed timelines.
