POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager Manager, Bridge Program Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Manage the Bridge Programs under the Office of Student Success to include Project Dream, the Summer Bridge Program. Responsible for planning, organizing, marketing and evaluating Project Dream. Develop, organize and implement other bridging activities to assist students to successfully transition to the College. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Manage the day-to-day operations of Project Dream to include establishing goals and objectives; curriculum development, hiring and training of faculty and staff, recruiting students, and making all necessary arrangements for the successful implementation of the program. 2. Develop and implement other activities for the successful transition of potential students to the College. 25% 3. Establish and maintain working relationships with other College offices and with community partners to assure effective program implementation. Conduct community outreach activities and presentations to promote services. 15% 4. Manage and supervise the Program’s financial resources, monitor expenditures in keeping with the allocated budget. Locate and apply for grants and other sources of funding. 10% 5. Responsible for establishing and maintaining measures of accountability regarding student success. Compile data, prepare and submit program reports. 10% 6. Provide personnel management direction and guidance to staff including orientation, performance appraisal, professional development, coaching and counseling. Participate in setting performance goals and priorities that contribute to departmental mission. 5% 7. Effective: Page 1 of 4 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Education or related field. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Ability to formulate Program goals and objectives and to effectively market the program to select target audiences; Ability to process and analyze information accurately; Experience working with a diverse student population having sensitivity to cultural issues; Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership and teambuilding skills; Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form; Ability to work collaboratively in developing partnership and teamwork; Ability to clearly and effectively present ideas in meetings and presentations. 2. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
