POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Financial Aid Clerk Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified C JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for collecting and disseminating financial aid information to and from students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 35% 1. Assist in the everyday functions of the office. Provide assistance with awarding of the dual credit program, assist with reviewing of scholarships and federal and state programs, scan documents for all programs and assist with the student loan process (e.g. federal loan sessions, emergency loans). 2. Review financial aid/eligibility documentation; ensure proper completion; input data into student system. 25% 3. Provide financial aid applications and related information to students via phone/person; refer or answer questions related to filing process; assist students with completion of application as needed; assist with workshop presentations. 25% 4. Assist with the registration process and responsible for administration of the emergency loan process. 10% 5. Other duties as assigned. 5% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Financial Aid Manager for assigned area. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: One year of college (30 credit hours). EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years related experience. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Good communication and public relation skills.
