POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Human Resources Development Specialist Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional B JOB SUMMARY: Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Development Department. Assist in coordinating, scheduling and accessing professional development needs for the District. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Assess professional training development needs and programs for the District. Coordinate development and completion of district-wide training schedules. Recommend and/or modify existing programs. 2. Coordinate Annual Staff Retreat and other department programs. Research venues, negotiate with vendors and manage the functions of the workshops/training sessions. Prepare related expense reports. 20% 3. Monitor and participate in a variety of specialized training and support activities. Promote and administer assigned workshops. Coordinate audiovisual equipment setup and educational materials. 15% 4. Evaluate outside professional training opportunities. Make recommendations for the District when appropriate. Develop and prepare support materials. 10% 5. Perform administrative support duties, including composing correspondence; provide and verify the accuracy of reports. Maintain inventory of training materials, audiovisual aides and presentation equipment. 10% 6. Perform fiscally related tasks to include monitoring of expenditures; prepare and process check requests; purchase requisitions, budget transfers, and other journal entries. 10% 7. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1.
