JOB SUMMARY: Manage the development, scheduling, marketing, implementation and evaluation of the
El Paso Community College’s Fabens Education Center. Develop, coordinate, and monitor district-wide
partnerships with the rural school districts.

1. Initiate and coordinate the planning, development, scheduling, marketing,

implementation, and evaluation of the Fabens Education Center to include design,
implementation, public relations and supervision of all Center activities, course
scheduling and coordinating student enrollment.

Manage the overall operations of the Fabens Education Center to include
recruiting, training, facilitating, supervision and evaluation of staff; supervise the
collection and maintenance of student records inclusive of academic progress and
documentation. Provide in-house technical expertise and counsel; train staff and
volunteers for scheduled activities and courses as needed; develop and conduct
seminars/workshops as required. Schedule and maintain room assignments for
services provided with the center.

Coordinate with the Early College High School Principal on strategic planning to
increase the number of course offerings (credit and non-credit) available to
students. Develop list of course offerings and distributes to district personnel and
to the community for recruitment purposes; work with Instructional Deans to
increase the number of course offerings available to rural communities.

Establish, coordinate and maintain effective district-wide partnerships with the
rural school districts and community-based organizations through direct contact,
advisory committees and other similar methods as needed.

Serve as liaison between community members, service providers, and EPCC
faculty and staff to maintain a strong working relationship between all of the
partners at the Center.

6.
Manage contractual reporting requirements to include generating and monitoring
financial reports, budgeting and expenditures. Responsible for evaluating all
activities and compiling the necessary reports documenting the achievement of
Center objectives.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Executive Director, Foundation & Development
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of staff assigned to Center.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Center budget.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related experience. Student services experience a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurable by
the district’s auto liability insurance carrier.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Texas Education Agency rules, community college administration,
and FERPA compliance;
Demonstrated experience in community outreach and marketing, and in-depth
knowledge of community social services;
Remain current with educational trends, issues and challenges for community
colleges;
Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic,
socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students;
Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and teambuilding skills;
Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form;
Ability to work collaboratively in developing partnerships and teamwork;
Ability to clearly and effectively present ideas in meetings and presentations.

Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office
environment (copier, telephone, fax, etc.).

Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.

abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Travel required to all campus locations on a regular
basis and travel occasionally to local service areas.
