POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Institutional Research Specialist Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified E JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate the day-to day operations of the Institutional Research/Faculty Evaluations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 1. Responsible to distribute, collect, record, categorize all research material; maintain institutional data and records. Respond to client requests; assess informational needs; import faculty rosters and generate labels and reports for research and evaluation studies. Coordinate and establish workload priorities, delegate and provide work direction to part-time employees for daily operations of the Institutional Research Faculty Evaluations. 2. Identify, develop and maintain a variety of research materials and analysis to staff and clients in support of college planning, resource allocation and decision making efforts. Design instruments for data collection, scan and process survey forms. 20% 3. Assist with the development and preparation of written reports as required by staff and clients. Use specialized software and equipment to design instruments for data collection. 15% 4. Orient staff in the use of software and equipment; serve as leader on projects e.g., scanning, survey printing, ordering supplies, mailing, etc.; provide departmental assistance in the delegation of work load for clerical support. 10% 5. Advise superior regarding procurement requirements and initiate purchases; ensure adequate materials have been ordered; and identify appropriate vendors and supplies. 10% 6.
