POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Programmer Analyst Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional F (Technology Support) JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and maintaining college administrative application software which includes assisting in system design, writing and maintaining computer programs. Providing logic/debugging support, quality assurance testing, file design, system interface of hardware and software, security, client/staff training and assisting in conversion of legacy systems to new applications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Consult with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions and features. Develop, maintain, customize, code and debug applications. Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic coding, testing, changes and corrections. Work with a complete range of assigned activities; program through analysis with the principal emphasis toward the programming end and able to work complicated projects. Coordinate with clients, vendors and consultants on timelines, testing, documentation, support and implementations. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 2. Perform requirements analysis, systems design, programming, testing, support, implementation, and documentation for application development, enhancement, and maintenance projects in an effective and efficient manner. Problem analysis and resolution, report preparation and presentation. 35% 3. Responsible for the operational effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and/or systems to include the development and implementation of operational and College procedures. Support and assist all clients in all facets of the information system process. 15% 4. Research packaged systems and programs for College opportunities to include recommendations on alternatives, acquisitions and financial impact. 5% 5.
