JOB SUMMARY: Provide support in the coordination and supervision of the program to which the job is
assigned.

1.
Coordinate the day-to-day operations for the Service Learning Protecting Our
Water and Environmental Resources (POWER) project. Plan and execute a
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) student
conference.
2.
Work with assigned evaluator of the grant to prepare documentation of
progress and success of the POWER initiative. Manage database system for
reporting purposes.

3.
Maintain files and necessary documentation from student experiences and
prepare monthly reports for the Dean and write progress reports for Learn and
Serve America.

4.
Identify faculty with relevant interests and encourage their involvement.
Develop and lead workshops and training designed to incorporate service
learning opportunities into new and existing courses.

5.
Develop and lead workshops and trainings designed to assist community
partners to become more effective at facilitating service learning experiences
for STEM students.
10%
6.
Identify opportunities for STEM students’ Service Learning experiences at a
variety of community organizations including site visits. Develop and
maintain relationships with community partners.

7.
Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years related experience.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse population having sensitivity to cultural
issues;
Leadership and teambuilding skills;
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written;
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

environment.

Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
