JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the administration of comprehensive student assistance and veterans
programs ensuring compliance with all appropriate federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations.

1.
Direct, develop, implement, and administer the District's student financial aid
services and veteran student assistance programs, including outreach
programs. Administer the process of application for and dissemination of
financial aid awards.

Responsible for the strategic planning and operational management of the
department. Review and recommend policies and procedures in adherence
with federal and state law, through the appropriate decision ranking channels.

3.
Provide interpretation, oversight and guidance in implementing student
financial aid to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
related to federal, state and local funding of student financial aid. Develop
and disseminate FA/VA information within community and District; develop
and maintain liaison within same; review and consult on special
circumstances/issues, student requests and/or complaints.

4.
Administer the preparation of all consolidated internal and external financial
aid reports for the District and is responsible for the integrity of the District
financial aid database. Serve as content expert and coordinate training for
financial aid information systems. Research and initiate new/additional
program funding.

Responsible for personnel management activities for assigned departments.
Major functions include recommendations for employment, promotion,
supervision and evaluating assigned personnel and providing guidance and
support concerning personal and professional development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of personnel assigned to Department.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budgets
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related
field.
EXPERIENCE: Nine (9) years of administrative, supervisory, or coordinative level experience
in connection with support services programs, preferably in a college setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.
Skills/Abilities:
Must have the skill and ability to plan, organize, lead, and control personnel and
operations of a large department;
Effective communication and problem solving skills in a variety of circumstances;
Considerable knowledge of grantsmanship and sources of external, especially
federal, funds;
Knowledge of state and federal aid programs, in particular, the reporting
requirements, audit functions, and regulatory compliance;
Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office
environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.)

Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and
presentation software.
