POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Coordinator, Financial Aid System and Reporting Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Classified Staff GRADE: F JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing specialized support through a variety of software applications and report generators used in the production and maintenance of mandated reporting processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Coordinate the daily production schedule of batch reports, daily system run requests, auditing and submission of state reports. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 2. Responsible for transferring data between information systems (internal and external) in accordance with established procedures and guidelines; provide testing of new Banner releases in a timely manner to ensure the Financial Aid system is current with Federal and State mandated updates. 20% 3. Oversee staff and work assignments; to include coordinating and delegating work, personal/professional development, coaching, performance management and training. 20% 4. Compile and prepare all Federal, State and ad hoc reports. 15% 5. Serve as liaison with the Information Technology staff regarding Financial Aid system issues. Maintain the Financial Aid website. 10% 6. Participate in financial aid outreach activities by conducting workshops and presentations on financial aid programs to staff, prospective students and parents. 5% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager, Financial Aid Processing SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct supervision to staff assigned. Skills/Abilities: Proficient computer skills, effective verbal and written communication and good interpersonal skills; good organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of and ability to access software applications and report generators. Ability to analyze and recommend solutions to routine reporting needs. Knowledge of the Department of Education Electronic Data Exchange system. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer, fax, telephone, copier, and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, commercially available packages, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
