TITLE: Grant Program Research Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Provide support and assist with coordination of activities related to the grant program research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

30% 1. Distribute, collect, record, categorize all research material; maintain grant program data and records; respond to client requests; assess informational needs; assist in design of research and evaluation studies, as requested.

2. Identify, develop and maintain a variety of research materials and analyses to staff and clients in support of college planning, resource allocation and decision making efforts; design instruments for data collection, scan and process survey forms.

3. Assist with the development and preparation of written reports as required by staff and clients. Use specialized software and equipment to design instruments for data collection; and assist with statistical analyses and interpretation.

4. Orient staff in the use of software and equipment,; serve as leader on projects e.g., scanning, survey printing, ordering supplies, mailing , etc.; provide departmental assistance in the delegation of work load for clerical support.

5. Advise supervisor regarding procurement requirements and initiate purchases; ensure adequate materials are on hand; and identify appropriate vendors and supplies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Grant Program Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide work direction to assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience.

1. Skills/Abilities : Good organizational skills, effective written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent interpersonal skills. associated with an office environment. presentation software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Duties performed causes fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. Duties require continuous effort in working with moderate to heavy (10 to 50lbs and, on occasion, over 50 lbs) materials producing moderate body fatigue.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
