POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager, Children’s College Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional D JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing the Children’s College course offerings for EPCCCD. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Design, develop, implement and evaluate Children’s College courses. 2. Identify, recruit, train and supervise part-time faculty. 25% 3. Supervise Child Development training program. 15% 4. Develop and produce curriculum schedules; communicate and market various Children’s College courses, workshops and seminars to students, faculty and administrative staff as well as local community. 15% 5. Participate in community advisory boards. 5% 6. Provide program faculty direction and guidance. 5% 7. Develop budget recommendations; manage approved budget; and monitor equipment/inventories for multiple course offerings. 5% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director, CE Personal Enrichment and Industrial Training SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision as first-line supervisor to staff assigned. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years experience. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Organizational, communication and leadership skills are imperative. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the institution and local community. 2. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
