JOB SUMMARY: Supports the College’s mission, vision, and core values. Responsible for developing,
managing and implementing student-oriented marketing plans and performing a variety of district-wide
community relations activities.

1.
Initiate, oversee, and implement District-wide, student-oriented, integrated
marketing plans. Perform all marketing related functions. Create and
implement marketing strategies and design and produce necessary materials to
assist departments in attaining their goals. Work with the President, Vice
Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, Deans, and Directors to develop
programs and marketing campaigns; identify and recommend new market
opportunities for the District.

Initiate and develop plans and programs to promote the District mission,
vision, goals, and core values and to enhance the District’s image. Create,
implement, and budget for comprehensive promotional programs and
activities.

3.
Oversee district-wide advertising, production of television and radio
commercials, newspaper advertisements, and billboard designs. Explore,
through effective advertising, the variety of college programs among potential
students as they make decisions regarding enrollment. Develop student
marketing assessment web surveys and analyze results. Ensure message
consistency in print, media, and the Web when promoting the District.

4.
Develop and maintain relationships with businesses, area media associates,
and community organizations; solicit corporate partnerships to provide special
benefits to students and staff.

Direct and evaluate a variety of district-wide public relations
programs/activities, including public service announcements, media
communications, community relations, promotional activities, and
conferences/events. Allocate funds effectively among media entities to
ensure broad coverage.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Vice President, Administration & Financial Operations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and indirect supervisory responsibility of staff assigned
to Marketing and External Affairs.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budgets
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years directly related experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.
Skills/Abilities: Effective written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to
work with teams of people to complete tasks; ability to direct and manage a broad range of
internal/external activities; and, an understanding of functions and programs with a
community college.
2.
Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office
environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.)
3.
Software Used: A variety of word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
