POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Director, Institutional Effectiveness Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Administrative C JOB SUMMARY: Plan, develop, and direct the Institutional Effectiveness database and district-wide program of instructional and administrative unit review, to provide management with information for decision-making on the quality of College services and to track and facilitate the re-accreditation process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 25% 1. Create, develop, and manage a comprehensive district-wide instructional and administrative Unit Review Program. 2. Coordinate institutional, departmental and discipline self-studies as part of the Institutional Effectiveness program and regional accreditation requirements, such as SACs. 15% 3. Create, develop and manage the College’s Annual Report and other reports to support administrative decision-making, to include College archives pertinent to accreditation and institutional effectiveness. 20% 4. Create, develop, and manage surveys and other appropriate computerized and internet databases with respect to accreditation, institutional evaluation, planning, committee membership, and the Policies and Procedures of the College. 15% 5. Create, develop, and administer data gathering instruments, analyze and report findings, and otherwise secure data to be used in assessing college units and to enhance the quality of the College. 10% 6. Conduct specialized evaluation of specific programs and services as may be requested by external agencies or required by internal needs. Serve as institutional liaison with local, state and federal agencies in matters pertaining to institutional evaluations. 5% 7. Serve as administrative liaison to the District Institutional Effectiveness Committee and related committees. 5% 8. Proficient computer skills, effective verbal and written communications skills and good interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the institution, to include faculty and administration. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.) 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
