POSITION DESCRIPTION EXTENDED TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Director Director, Office of Recruitment & School Relations Exempt CATEGORY: Administrative GRADE: C JOB SUMMARY: Direct, develop, implement, and maintain El Paso County Community College District’s Office of Recruitment and School Relations to enhance enrollment of prospective students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 25% 1. Initiate and direct the strategic planning, development, scheduling, marketing and implementation of District-wide recruitment programs, seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the county. Research, plan, recommend, and implement departmental budget. Direct and indirect supervision of staff assigned. 1. Manage admission and testing requirements and needs of facilities for dual credit course offerings including serving as student service liaison to school district/organizations that host dual credit instruction. 20% 2. Identify target populations, assess educational and training needs of the community, and assist in the determination of alternative modes of instructional delivery. Prepare and analyze data to assess the success of the recruitment programs; prepare reports. 15% 3. Outreach/Program marketing to bring awareness about EPCC to rural community. 10% 4. Guide and coordinate the provision of student services for the activities of admissions, testing, student financial assistance, new student orientations and distance learning. 10% 5. Coordination of College Week Activities showcasing EPCC programs and forming liaisons with other Colleges and Universities. 5% 6. Direct the “Partners in Education” program district-wide in coordination with all area schools and districts. 5% 7. Provide personnel management direction and guidance to staff/faculty i.e., orientation, evaluation, performance appraisal, coaching, personal and professional development. 5% 8. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budget. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master’s degree in administration, education, counseling, or related field. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience in public schools, community colleges, and/or corporate environment. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skills/Abilities: Must posses the skill and ability to manage personnel and operations of a large department. Effective communication and problem solving skills in a variety of circumstances and diverse populations. Ability to make presentations. Excellent time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work on multiple tasks. Able to set and meet targets for recruitment goals. Ability to travel, work flexible hours and weekends. Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, families, faculty and professional staff. Equipment Used: Personal Computer, Audiovisual equipment, and equipment used in a distance facility. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database and e-mail.
