We’ll discuss our upcoming EcoTrip, the Human Growth & Development unit, and Promotion ceremony. It’s important that you attend this meeting. Please remind your students of the dress code and appropriate school attire. Next week, we will explore the period following the Civil War, Reconstruction. We’ll then look at westward expansion after the Civil War. Memos on Math We will wrap up our studies of Measurement next week with a chapter review (not a test due to the sporadic nature of the chapter due to TCAP). We will begin Geometry on Thursday. We celebrated the end of TCAP testing with popsicles outside on Friday. Thank you for making every effort to have your child here for testing Scoop on Science We’ll begin our study of flowering plants mondy with a look at parts of the flower, fertilization, fruits, and seeds. We’ll rotate classrooms through 3 labs (flowers, fruits, seeds) on Friday. Art is the Special next week Lots About Language Arts Language: Students have chosen an animal to research (may not be an animal they have researched in previous grades) and will check out a book from the school library Monday as we prepare to research and write our final report of the year. Students are required to have 3 resources and are therefore required to check out additional books from the school or public library and/or print articles from the computer at home. Research and note-taking will be done in the classroom and will be typed on the netbooks in the classroom. Spelling: List 24, suffixes next week.
