Memos on Math
Students took the Ch. 21 test
today. Next week, we will work
once again with fractions;
adding and subtracting
fractions.
Get those pictures in!!!
THE DEADLINE IS
MAY 18!!!!!
Please don’t wait until the
last minute though!
PLEASE! We need your
child’s toddler and
Kindergarten pictures to
prepare the special
presentation at Promotion
Ceremony! Please send
those either by email
(rjschelir@hotmail.com), disc,
or ‘hard copy’ as soon as
you can!
The Hype on History
We have studied the
Native American
cultures of the Great
Basin, Plateau, Plains, and
Pacific Northwest. Students
wrote an essay on their
assigned region this week. We
look forward to doing some
Native American crafts from the
regions.
We have also begun to look at
the conflicts that arose between
Native Americans and settlers as
a result of expansion.
Scoop on Science
We finished up our
lessons for the
Animal Reproduction
unit. The unit test is next
Wednesday for which
students are preparing a
study guide.
Many students have chosen
to do a PowerPoint or Prezi
presentation on their report
animal. Presentations will be
Monday and Tuesday, 1:001:45. (Please note date
changes for presentations
and test)
Human Growth and
Development will conclude
next Wednesday. I
encourage you to talk with
your child about all he/she
is learning in this unit each
day.
Lots About Language Arts
Language: I’m enjoying
reading and grading the animals
reports students turned in last
week. They have really grown
as writers!
Reading: Students have
received information for their
final book report and project.
These are due on 5/23 and will
be shared in the classroom that
day at a Reader’s Museum.
Remember to save a shoe box
for your child’s diorama  No
late projects or reports will
be accepted!
Spelling: List 25 (words with
-ion, as in expression) next
week.
SPECIALS NEXT WEEK:
Music is our Special next
week. Bring recorders!
