This is the right time for wheat crop sowing hence farmers advised to complete the sowing
operation at the earliest. If the sowing of wheat crop is being delayed then farmers are
advised for sowing of the varieties like GW-173, Lok-1 or Arpa.
Earthing up should be done in the potato crop, therefore framers are advised to complete
this operation and do fertilizer management.
At present the average temperature is around 22-24°C which is favorable for the sowing of
rabi crops specially wheat, gram, pea, rabi moong, sunflower and mustard. Looking to
these farmers are advised for the sowing of these rabi crops.
Before sowing, seed treatment with Thiram @ 3 g per kg of seed or Bavistin @ 2g per kg
seed followed by treatment with recommended Rhizobium culture @ 5 g/kg seed of pulses
will be beneficial to increase the productivity.
Looking to the present weather conditions and soil temperature farmers are advised for the
sowing of autumn sugarcane as early as possible. Top one-third portion of the cane should
be used as seed set and should be treated by dipping the sets for 5-10 minutes in the
solutions of fungicides like copper oxychlorid @ 3 g or Emisan @ 1.25 g per litre water.
Looking to the cloudy weather condition in the past few days’ infestation of insects in
vegetable crops may occur. Hence, farmers are advised to keep eye on these crops and if
the infestation is above normal spray the recommended insecticides.
