Agro-advisories
 Due to the heavy to medium rainfall received during past week soil has become saturated, it is
therefore advised for transplanting of rice crop wherever irrigation facilities are available.
 Farmers are advised for the treatment of raised paddy nursery by carbofuran 3G 2 kg.a.i./ha. 2-5
days before transplanting for the insect control.
 During early monsoon period, FMD is commonly noticed in cattle’s. Hence, it is advised for
vaccination of the cattle’s.
 Due to delay in getting appropriate rain farmers are advised for sowing of early and medium
varieties of rice (up to 130 days) in place of long duration varieties of rice under rainfed conditions
to avoid water stress conditions at the time of maturity. Suitable early varieties of rice for – Matasi
soil- Aditya, Poornima, Annada, Danteshwari. For Dorsa soil- MTU 1010, IR – 36, IR-64 and for
Kanhar soil- Mahamaya, Karma Masuri, MTU 1001, etc.
 As far as the recorded rainfall is concerned in Chhattisgarh plains, soil moisture is sufficient for
line sowing of rice. For line sowing of rice, line to line distance should be 20 centimeters and seed
rate should be 80 Kg. Per ha. It is also advised to farmers they should follow line sowing for
maximum coverage.
 Prepares/ repairing bunds for soil and water conservation.
