Dear parents/ guardians,
We are pleased to officially announce that we have now cast the main parts for this year’s school
musical, ‘Bugsy Malone'. The cast is very enthusiastic, talented and hardworking and we are looking
forward to what will hopefully be our best show ever.
The performances will take place on:
Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th February 2013 in the school hall
A high quality show obviously requires a lot of hard work and effort for all involved and to this end it is
important that pupils attend all rehearsals to maximise the potential of the practice time. Please
examine the rehearsal schedule carefully and ensure that your son or daughter attends.
This year we have chosen to cast two pupils in some of the lead roles, to act as understudies in case
of emergencies. Both pupils chosen will get the opportunity to perform. We will let you know the night
your son or daughter will be performing the lead role closer to the time when we can judge the correct
dynamics within the cast.
To ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals we ask that pupils adhere to the following rehearsal
code:
Mobile phones must be switched off in all rehearsals
Pupils must follow all instructions from members of staff first time at all times
All lines must be learnt for scenes by the first day of term following the Christmas holidays

Lead cast acting rehearsals:
These shall be listed on the show notice board and school website. Pupils must be responsible for
being aware of when they are required to attend. Rehearsals shall take place on Mondays from the
end of school until 5.30pm
Lead cast singing rehearsals:
These shall take place on Wednesday after school until 5pm

 Wednesday 5th December-‘I’m Feeling Fine’ and ‘Ordinary Fool’ Blousey (Niamh and Georgina)
 Wednesday 12th December--‘Tomorrow’ Fizzy (Calum and Josh)

On these evenings, pupils should remain in school between the end of school and the performance.
Pupils should bring a packed tea or £3 for pizza.
We currently estimate that pupils will be ready for collection by 9pm.
