Auditions for Spring Musical
PARENTS AND STUDENTS PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES SET
FORTH TO ALLOW FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE REHEARSAL PERIOD FOR
THE SPRING MUSICAL. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL
REHEARSALS. I OF COURSE PUT IN LONG HOURS IN ADDITION TO THESE
SCHEDULED TIMES TO COMPLETE ALL THE NECESSARY BACKGROUND WORK. MOST
HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA PROGRAMS REQUIRE MUCH LONGER REHEARSAL PERIODS, AND I
FEEL I AM NOT ASKING TOO MUCH TIME FOR A SUCCESSFUL PRODUCTION. PLEASE
DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD AUDITION IF THEY WILL BE UNABLE TO ADHERE TO
THESE GUIDELINES. They must also be at all performances so check
calendars!
We need parent support to put together a venture this large. Please
fill out the parent volunteer section to assist in this process.
THE VOCAL AND DANCE PREPARATION FOR THE AUDITIONS WILL BEGIN ON
DECEMBER 8TH at 3 IN THE AUDITORIUM WITH A DANCE AUDITION. ON THE 10TH
IN THE CHORUS ROOM AT 3 THE SONGS WILL BE TAUGHT ENSEMBLE FIRST,
FOLLOWED BY LEAD SONGS. THE AUDITION WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 11TH AT 2:30
IN THE AUDITORIUM. MEASUREMENTS FOR COSTUMES WILL BE TAKEN THAT DAY AS
WELL. ONCE A STUDENT HAS DONE THEIR AUDITION, THEY ARE FREE TO LEAVE,
OR STAY AND QUIETLY WATCH THE OTHER AUDITIONS. THE CALL BACK IF NEEDED,
WILL TAKE PLACE ON DECEMBER 17TH. THE CAST LIST WILL BE POSTED AFTER
CALLBACKS. ONCE THE FINAL CAST LIST IS POSTED, ALL STUDENTS SHOULD
INITIAL NEXT TO YOUR NAME BY 12:30pm IF YOU ACCEPT THE ROLE AND STAY
AFTER SCHOOL ON THE 21ST TO GET YOUR SCRIPT AND A READ THROUGH FROM
2:30-5:30.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MUSICAL SEASON.
1. YOU MUST BRING BY DECEMBER 8TH, A COPY OF YOUR 1ST MARKING PERIOD
GRADES AND A CURRENT PROGRESS REPORT SIGNED BY EACH OF YOUR TEACHERS IF
YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD STANDING, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AUDITION. THIS
MAY BE ON NOTEBOOK PAPER AND INITIALED BY YOUR TEACHERS
2. REHEARSALS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES Mondays from 3:005:30, Wednesday from 3:00-5:30, Thursday from 3:00-5:30, Friday from
2:30-3:45(SOLO OR SMALL GROUPS), Saturday from 9:00-12:00. YOU WILL
ONLY HAVE TO BE AT THE REHEARSALS THAT INCLUDE SCENES YOU ARE IN OR
MUSICAL/DANCE NUMBERS YOU ARE IN. YOU WILL HAVE SCHEDULES FOR THE
ENTIRE RUN ASAP EACH NIGHT THE WEEK OF THE SHOW WE WILL REHEARSE FROM
5:30-10PM. BE SURE THE STUDENTS DO HOMEWORK BETWEEN SCHOOL AND
REHEARSAL SO THAT WHEN THEY RETURN HOME THEY CAN GO TO SLEEP. We will
have our first dress run on Friday of President’s weekend from 8-2:30.
3. YOU WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO MISS ONE REHEARSAL UNEXCUSED. ON THE
NEXT MISS YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE CAST. THEREFORE, PLEASE MAKE
APPOINTMENTS FOR WHATEVER, SO THAT YOU DO NOT MISS REHEARSAL. AS THE
COACHES DO, I AM REQUESTING A DOCTOR'S NOTE IF YOU MISS REHEARSAL FOR
THE DOCTOR. OBVIOUSLY I MUST DO THE SAME. YOU MUST SEE ME WITH ANY
EMERGENCIES! PLEASE DO NOT SEND A FRIEND TO TELL ME ANYTHING, YOU WILL
BE CONSIDERED UNEXCUSED.
4. IF YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING, AN UNDERSTUDY WILL
REHEARSE THE ROLE UNTIL YOU ARE.

WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE
5. ALL OF YOUR CONFLICTS (REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETINGS, CLASSES, WORK,
REGULAR Dr. VISITS ETC.) MUST BE LISTED ON THE AUDITION SHEET OTHERWISE
MISSED REHEARSALS WILL BE CONSIDERED UNEXCUSED. If you need to miss
more than one hour each week for another obligation, you may not be
cast. Do not audition if you cannot make Saturday rehearsals.
6. IF YOU ARE PLAYING A HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORT I will not be able to
work around the other schedule. My expectation is that you will be
present. If you can work it out with the coach and not miss rehearsals,
you may participate. YOU CERTAINLY COULD BE ON A CREW OR TWO. IT IS
UNFAIR TO ASK THE REST OF THE CAST TO ACCOMODTE YOUR SPLIT INTEREST.
7. IF YOU, OR YOUR PARENTS HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS BEFORE
SIGNING THIS CONTRACT THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR

8. A CHECK FOR $20.00 MADE OUT TO MASQUE & MIME IS REQUESTED AS OUR
FUNDRAISER FOR THE YEAR. THE CHECK SHOULD BE TURNED IN BY DECEMBER
8TH.PLEASE CONTACT MRS. DAVIS PRIVATELY IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS REGARDING
THIS OR IF IT IS A HARDSHIP (one donation per family unless you are
feeling really generous)
9. THIS SIGNED CONTRACT FORM, THE GRADE REPORT, THE DONATION CHECK, THE
PARENT VOLUNTEER FORM AND A T-SHIRT ORDER FORM WITH PAYMENT MUST BE
SIGNED AND RETURNED TO MRS. DAVIS BY DECEMBER 8TH. CREW AS WELL! Please
use separate check or cash for t-shirt and donations-thank you!
11. KEEP THE INFORMATIONAL PART OF THIS DOCUMENT SO THAT YOU MAY REFER
TO IT WHEN NECESSARY. ALL OF MY CONTACT INFORMATION IS HERE WITHIN.
13. Performances- March 3-6, 2015 at 7:00PM.(IF DECIDED SUNDAY WOULD BE
AT 2PM) We may add a matinee depending on the show and ticket sales
14. Your signature gives us permission to use your child’s image in any
print or advertising for the show and on our website.
15. TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE AT THE END OF JANUARY – FIRST COME FIRST
SERVED FOR RESERVED SEATS $7.00 FOR STUDENTS & SENIOR CITIZENS AND
$8.00 FOR ADULTS.
16. WE do offer program sponsorships. If you would like to put a
message in the program for your business or a personal message for your
child, please fill out the form with payment and turn it in by the
beginning of February

We have read and understand the rehearsal policies and agree to abide
