Rules and Supply list for The Lion King Jr. and Musical Theatre Class Attend all rehearsals, in class and outside of class. If you miss a music rehearsal it can be made up by meeting with Mrs. Bone and passing off the music. Choreography rehearsals cannot be replaced. If the student misses a rehearsal, without informing Mrs. Bone or once we set a number they will be cut from the number. Students can only make up two rehearsals. Academic credit can be made up by picking up an alternate assignment out of the “I Was Absent” box, this does not mean you will be put in the number, just your points can be made up. If you have an illness or you are frequently absent you will still follow the same rules, miss a rehearsal you are out of the number. It is never okay to miss rehearsal. Leave electronics off and untouched at rehearsals and performances. Be on time with all materials for all rehearsal and performances, including script, paper, pencil and costumes (when needed.) Bring a pencil and paper daily. Be attentive and follow directions. Any disruption will be grounds for being cut from scenes or the class. Class time is work time, theatre cannot exist in chaos, behave! No gum, ever, in class or at performances. If you are not on stage at rehearsal please sit quietly and memorize or watch. Be kind, speak kindly to and about you fellow cast members, crew members, and directors both at rehearsal and elsewhere. Take criticism with a thankful heart, it is only meant to help not hurt you. It is to help the actor develop the character, not to personally attack your character. Do not take direction from family, friends, or fellow cast members. Let the director give directions; do not direct your fellow cast members. Discuss concerns before or after rehearsal not during. Respect everyone’s time. Be memorized when asked, so as not to cause added rehearsals, or missed points. Talk to or e-mail Mrs. Bone immediately should an emergency arise. abone@dsdmail.net. Pay the $25.00 fee by February 8, 2016. Never use this class as an excuse to miss school work or any other class. All students need to provide their own basic make-up and colors based on the animal ensemble they are placed in. Boys and girls need base a shade darker than their skin and black and brown eyeliner pencil and for girls rouge and eye shadow. Students will need a dance shoe a tan color is preferred, black is acceptable. The show can be a jazz shoe or ballet shoe style is not important, type is. The make-up list will be given more specifically after ensembles are chosen. Do not plan pranks, or haze any cast member. This is also against district policy and will result in suspension and loss of roll in the class. Do not eat in costume. Do not touch any prop that doesn’t belong to you. Treat all costumes and props with care, they are fragile. Take care not to break, or tear them. You will have to replace or pay for any costume or prop that is mistreated. Do not greet the audience in costume. Leave the magic on the stage, let the actor take the credit and let the character stay in the play. Have fun-Learn-Grow!! Parents: How can I help?
