Supporting Learning Reporting to Pupils and Parents 2014-15.
Information Update Spring term 2015
Each term, information will be shared, with both pupils and parents, on achievements and next learning
targets to support progress. Each half term there will be opportunities to view pupils’ work during
‘open classroom’ events.
In the Autumn term, you received a report for your child,which focused on how well your child has
settled into this school year as well as specific targets to support their engagement in the learning, and
next steps for Literacy and Numeracy.
In the Autumn term there were also two ‘open classrooms’ which provided pupils and parents with the
opportunity to look through completed work and the classroom environment
In the Spring term, pupil conferences will be held providing all teachers and pupils with valuable
individual discussion time on learning achievments and expectations.
A Spring update report will come home ahead of the parent evening appointments [Y1-Y6] These
individual appointments will be held during two evenings and again your child’s work will be available
for sharing. For parents of Foundation Stage pupils, you will have the opportunity to let your child
guide you through their learning environment and completed activities. Mrs Arbuthnott will be in the
classroom for part of this open classroom event.
Your child’s Annual report will be distributed in the Summer term. These reports will contain details of
your child’s progress in relation to the curriculum subjects and attainment milestones. The annual
report will also include attendance data and a target that will support your child’s transition into the
next academic year. An open evening will be held to celebrate the successes of the year.
Throughout the year there will also be many opportunities to share/discuss your child’s learning and to see the school
in action, such as open classrooms, classrooms in action and school performances. You can also, of course, contact
your child’s class teacher to discuss any concerns you may have.
