Space Committee Meeting
MINUTES
November 7, 2012

1.
Project Timelines
- The religious centers cost study is completed and the project is on hold.
2.
Osprey Commons
- The work is now concentrated on the 3rd and 4th floors. Substantial completion is
currently scheduled for December 5th.
- Moves are currently scheduled as follows: Office of Faculty Enhancement on December
18, Faculty Association in mid-January, the United Faculty of Florida Union office and
Campus Design, Planning and Construction on December 13. A tour is scheduled for
November 9 at 3:30.

Housing Clubhouse
- A presentation to the President was held on November 2nd showing the revised
elevations. Approval to proceed with final design was given. Groundbreaking is
tentatively scheduled in May.
4.
Buildings 3, 4 and 50
- Demolition work on the first floor of building 4 is complete. Physical Facilities is
painting the corridor. Some fire alarm strobes need to be intensified.
- The request for a Math Lab in building 3 is still under consideration in the Provost’s
Office. The cost to increase the HVAC and electric to allow for the number of computers
requested is approximately $330,000.
- Electrical work has started in the CCEC machine shop. Work should be completed in
1½ weeks.
5.
GLC: Women’s Golf Locker Room
- This project is completed. Once the Certificate of Occupancy is received, users may
move in.
6.
Greek Housing
- Several meetings have occurred with the Greek organizations and Greek Life to discuss
the financial and market analysis. A conference call is scheduled on November 16th. A
meeting on campus is scheduled on November 27th.
7.
Interfaith Chapel at the Sanctuary
- A mandatory briefing session was held and 23 potential candidates for the design
competition were present. The President expressed his vision for the project.
Submissions are due at the end of the month.
8.
Renovations: Building 8
- Our consultants should be receiving the 50% design documents within 2 weeks. A
schedule for the Papa Johns project is being prepared by Elkins. Batson-Cook will
prepare a schedule for the Chick-fil-A project. Papa Johns will be completed first.
