These requirements include but are not limited to – site specific requirements, company quality management requirements, approved codes of practice and guidelines, and legislative requirements. 2 The legislation and standards relevant to this unit standard include but are not limited to – Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 (HSE), Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995, their subsequent amendments and any applicable Approved Codes of Practice created under the primary Act. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify duties and responsibilities for health and safety in the dairy industry workplace. Evidence requirements 1.1 Duties and responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace are identified in accordance with legislative requirements. Range 1.2 duties and responsibilities of – employers, employees. Right of refusal to perform unsafe work is identified in accordance with organisational requirements. Evidence requirements 2.1 Health and safety practices are explained in terms of organisational requirements. Range health and safety practices may include but are not limited to those associated with – fire, chemical spillage, electrical machinery, vehicles, noise, protective clothing and equipment, lifting. Evidence is required for a minimum of three health and safety practices. 2.2 Incident recording, reporting and investigation requirements are identified in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.3 Emergency actions to be taken in the workplace are outlined in accordance with organisational requirements. Range emergencies may include but are not limited to those involving – fire, chemical spillage, live electricity. Evidence is required for a minimum of three emergencies. Outcome 3 Identify hazards in the dairy industry workplace. Evidence requirements 3.1 Types of hazards encountered in the workplace are identified. Range hazard types include but are not limited to – physical, chemical, electrical, biological, ergonomic, psychological.
