Assessment Committee Meeting Report for February 14, 2011 Attendees: Janet Boeckman, Kate Peresie, Jen Phenicie, Deb Hysell, Robert Slabodnick, Ellen Johnson Kate called and conducted the meeting. TOPIC DISCUSSION ACTION STEPS Assessment Committee web site Course based assessment reporting Committee members observed that it is difficult to find assessment report templates and assessment tools on the web site. Kate presented a draft of a course assessment reporting template – based on Stark State’s template – and notes on the guidelines discussed at the last meeting. The Committee supported adding space to the template for program level learning outcomes and suggested changes to the evaluation methods based on additional information Kate presented. Present to Academic Council Kate By end of quarter Deb By next meeting CLOs Web-based assessment platforms Next meeting 2/14/11, 3:30 The Committee approved the change to the Program Assessment Report document that indicates that CLO assessments are reported according to the CLO 3-year assessment cycle. Information Literacy Rubric – the Committee recommended changes in the Present rubric to language regarding plagiarism. The recommended changes will be run by English Dept. the English Department for approval. Culture & Community – No report. The Committee decided not to pursue the investigation of web-based assessment platforms any further for this year due to funding and human resources constraints. (The group that visited Owens CC in December did not think Task Stream was the right platform for our needs. Live Text was the next platform that was to be investigated.)
