Paul reported that the Culture and Community CLO Team has worked on
prompts for the essay and has had initial discussion on the logistics for
administering the essay. Discussion occurred on the following: attaching a
list of courses where the essay could be administered (in Option #2) as a
student reminder; using Encore to identify on course rosters those students
in their last HUM/SS course therefore due for the essay.
Kate reported that the Computation CLO is being addressed by Dean
Rountree and the Math faculty as part of the assessment of students for
placement, evaluating the effectiveness of COMPASS, etc.
Kate reported that the Computer Literacy Team is considering another
assessment tool.
For CLO assessment in general, the Committee discussed the following:
including information in the College Catalog; establishing CLO assessment
as a requirement for graduation, part of the graduation audit; randomly
assigning students who are near graduation to one or two CLO assessments,
still using the rotating CLO schedule already established; having a CLO
Assessment Day (Every quarter? Spring quarter only during professional
development day?)
The Committee decided to propose the Assessment Day to the Faculty

Responsibilities of
Course
Coordinators
Teri has worked on a report for collecting information from faculty needed
for program/department assessment.
The consensus of the Committee is that Course Coordinators are
responsible for course outcomes and assessment measures. When other
faculty teaching the courses want to make changes, they need to work with
the Course Coordinators. If they are not satisfied, they will need to confer
with their DCs then Deans.
