Assessment Committee Meeting Report for April 18, 2008
Attendees: Mike Allen, Terry Coleman, Anne Vinson, Teri, Kofod, Robert Slabodnick, Chris Stevens, Cathy Craig (guest), Kate Peresie
Kate called and conducted the meeting.

CLO Pilots
Culture & Community: Paul Sukys did not attend the meeting
or provide a report.
Computer Literacy: Cathy reported that 3 capstone courses
(Digital Media/Damberger, CRJ/Vinson, Resp
Care/Slabodnick) are set up to pilot the tool – Skill Check, a
computerized 30 – 45 minute digital literacy package.
Computation: The Committee discussed COMPASS, using as
pre & post, use of diagnostics.

Has been sent to PAC. Cathy Craig has been given
responsibility for assessment processes in the Student Success
Center reorganization.
Speech assessment – discussed having it on assessment day,;
decided to allow student to choose to give a speech done
previously or an impromptu speech.

The Committee invited Cathy to join; Cathy accepted.
Committee approved handout. Decided to give “silly prizes”
for accomplishments in CLO and 5-column reports. Discussed
possible categories.
Reminder e-mail was sent to DCs, & Deans that 07-08 reports
due October 15th. Date extended to allow faculty time to work
with end-of-year data.
CIS programs only programs that did not submit reports for
06-07.
Modify template – not approved.
Proposal to have 5 Column Report as part of every Curriculum
Committee’s course change proposal process approved.
