4th Grade News September 25, 2015 English Language Arts This week, fourth grade continued with Unit 1 Lesson 1 skills, strategies, and stories. Students practiced close reading with the selections Because of Winn-Dixie and Because of Book Ends. We jumped into writing by composing a descriptive paragraph about a special place. Students were engaged in word study lessons which focused on spelling patterns. This way of building spelling patterns is different from years past since it does not involve rote memorization of spelling words. We are looking forward to having students log onto Think Central early next to check out the available resources from Journeys!
