The students were assessed on their knowledge of lessons 3.1, 3.2, and 3.4. As we come close to Thanksgiving Break, the students will be introduced to the regrouping (traditional) method of multiplication for multi-digit numbers. We will continue to practice both the partial products and regrouping methods after the break. I hope to give the students their first unit test (covering chapters 1, 2, and 3) on Friday, December 4th. Social Studies By: Mrs. Lahneman We could not have done it without your support! A great big THANK YOU to all 4th parents who volunteered to help the fourth grade with their Salt Dough Maps. It was a real success, the students had a great time, and they have learned a lot about the state they live in!! The rest of the week, we continued to focus on how to read a content area text, how to find information in a text, and how to complete a true and false worksheet by looking for the page number of where the information is located in the textbook. The students are beginning to understand how the structure of a content area text can help them find information, as well as help them practice text dependent types of questions. The focus has been, and will continue to be, on the 5 Natural Regions of Pennsylvania: the Atlantic Coastal Plain Region, the Piedmont, South Mountain, and Reading Prong Region, the Ridge and Valley Region, the Allegheny Plateau Region, and the Erie Lowland Region.
