POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager Manager, Americana Language Program Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: C Job Summary: Responsible for managing, planning, and the administration of a designated program. Manager is responsible for carrying out the goals and objectives of the Americana Language Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 1. Manage and coordinate the administration of the Americana Language programs. Schedule ESL courses and manage student enrollment. Develop program calendar. Research, compile, prepare, and submit program and enrollment reports. Conduct placement testing as needed. 20% 2. Manage and oversee off-campus programs, e.g. Juarez programs. Meet with onand-off campus representatives to design specialized courses including preparation of budget and schedules, hiring of faculty, and monitoring enrollment. 15% 3. Assist the Dean with discipline matters and student issues. Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of the Dean. 15% 4. Manage the ALP faculty credentialing process, to include verifying teaching experience, official transcripts, and preparing credentialing folder for Dean’s signature. 15% 5. Coordinate, recommend, and approve expenditures. Participate in the development of the departmental budgets. 15% 6. Coordinate hiring committee for new part-time faculty positions. Schedule and monitor part-time faculty. Schedule release time for full-time faculty. Chair the ALP Faculty Committee responsible for interpreting and complying with State and Federal guidelines, e.g. WECM, INS visa requirements for students, and SACS. 10% 7. Research, prepare, and submit grants for additional programming. 5% 8.
