POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Business Development Advisor Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional E JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing counseling services to prospective and existing Small Business Development Center (SBDC) clients including business planning, marketing, management, and economic/financial analysis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 35% 1. Coordinate and provide individualized counseling and guidance to prospective and existing Small Business Development clients regarding financial, marketing, organizational and/or specialized business needs. 2. Interview, screen and select feasible projects for small business assistance and service; assist prospective small business clients with the development of business plans, financing proposals and related small business consulting products. 25% 3. Develop and maintain all client documentation, including meeting notes, technical proposals, etc; monitor work quality; maintain a continuing communication network with prior and existing clients. 15% 4. Develop and prepare required and ad-hoc administrative reports; evaluate client performance against goals established by the funding sources. 15% 5. Participate in community outreach efforts; publicize SBCD capabilities; establish relationships and acts as liaison between clients and governmental agencies, financial institutions and private industry; conduct ad-hoc training. 5% 6.
