JOB SUMMARY: Participate in facilitating and streamlining the El Paso Community College (EPCC)
enrollment process to inform low-to moderate-income Hispanic students of the benefits of enrolling and
completing a college degree program. Plan, develop and execute projects and activities to achieve the
goals and objectives of the High School to College Completion program.
Program Description
El Paso Community College has partnered with Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TG) to begin
the High School to College Completion program. The goal of the program is to increase the number of
low-to moderate-income Hispanic students who are informed about certain aspects and benefits of enrolling
in and completing a college degree program. The program will facilitate completion of the college
enrollment process and provide specific student services to these students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Will work with key EPCC Student Services personnel, such as college readiness

and placement, financial aid services, disability/handicap services at the different
Independent School District’s (ISD’s) to promote the EPCC enrollment process to
students, parents, and educators. Must be able to travel to the different ISD’s.

Recommend and present training/workshops to high school students and their
families to include student orientations and career exploration activities. Promote
program and assist students and their parents in campus visits/tours. Assist in
completing any necessary forms to include the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) application. Participate in all aspects of the students’
transition to higher education.

Act as liaison to the assigned ISD by monitoring and tracking student enrollment
progress. Update student information on an ongoing basis and follow-up with
students and ISD staff. Provide student mentoring and develop and maintain
positive relationships with high school staff.

Prepare and maintain written documentation of program activities, student
evaluations and assessments. Compile data and statistics to determine admission,
retention, and college completion success rates of program’s participants. Prepare
and submit reports; ensure the program plans are implemented and monitored to
meet program strategic goals. Develop and maintain a database for program
evaluation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related experience to include one year work experience in
multiple aspects of college service delivery (admissions, financial aid, assessment, advising
and/or registration).
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurable by
the district’s auto liability insurance carrier; must have a reliable vehicle.

Bilingual skills; Spanish/English;
Advanced computer skills using standard office software programs;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a
collaborative manner;
Effective use of interpersonal and communication skills in making individual and
group presentations;
Experience working on special initiatives with community representatives and
leaders or high school personnel;
Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and
inclusion.
