POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Coordinator Coordinator, Intercollegiate Athletics Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: B JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and organize the athletic event operations for the EPCC baseball and softball teams. Responsible for developing a communication and public relations campaign to promote the baseball and softball events. Develop strong sponsorship relationships and design innovative marketing strategies and oversee effective media relations and fundraising activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 35% 1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the development and implementation of plans to increase the revenues generated by the intercollegiate athletics program through fundraising, donations, ticket sales, and under writing of specific events and/or sports seasons. Establish fundraising goals, evaluate, analyze and report on annual results. Develop and supervise key personnel dedicated to help increase Athletic fundraising efforts to help cultivate and maximize funding opportunities. Utilize outfield signs and media guide ads to generate advertising revenues. 2. Work with Public Relations and Marketing Department to inform, coordinate, and initiate media events; establish new media contacts and ensure any EPCC material being used has the approved logo and quality consistency. Serve as liaison for team media interviews and other media opportunities that may develop. 3. Act as Game Day supervisor for games held at men’s baseball and women’s softball fields. Plan, organize and coordinate events accordingly, serve as point of contact for Physical Plant, EPCC Police Department and any concessions personnel. Act as game announcer when needed and maintain game statistics. 20% 4. Stay abreast and comply with applicable National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) and UIL regulations. Interpret and advise coaches and staff members on rules & regulations, and District policies and procedures that pertain to game operations. 15% 5. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related experience. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1.
