JOB SUMMARY: Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet with executive responsibility for the
planning, management and evaluation of institutional services that support the accomplishment of the
District’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and the continuation of the District’s accreditation status.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Assess, plan, organize, administer and evaluate a program for institutional
effectiveness, including instructional and student services evaluation programs,
departmental evaluation programs and the monitoring and assessment of regional,
state and specialized accrediting requirements.

Develop, administer and evaluate a comprehensive program of institutional
research that provides timely information for decision making.

3.
Responsible for the District’s strategic and tactical procedures related to Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and
the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) compliance and
accreditation.

4.
Plan, direct and evaluate departmental assignments. Develop, approve and
monitor departmental policies and procedures. Set department direction; evaluate
department outcomes and personnel performance.

5.
Plan, organize, implement and evaluate a comprehensive strategic and tactical
planning program. Plan, oversee and evaluate community planning support
programs.

6.
Represent the College interest’s to federal and state governments, industry and to
other national and international constituencies.

7.
Oversee the process for the design and updating of college policies and
procedures.

8.
Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in a directly related field. Doctorate strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Twelve (12) years increasingly responsible administrative experience, including
managerial and supervisory experience in an academic setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skills/Abilities:
 Comprehensive knowledge of community college administration.

Knowledge of Texas and Federal laws and regulations related to education in general
and community colleges specifically.

Experience and expertise with SACSCOC accreditation process.

Ability to use logic, experience and knowledge to evaluate information and problem
situations.

Remain current with educational trends, issues and challenges for community
colleges.

Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Providing leadership at all levels of the College.

Working effectively with a diverse and multi-cultural student body and staff.

Experience making public presentations.
