POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Executive Director of Resource Development Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Administrative E JOB SUMMARY: Plan, direct, and coordinate major grant, corporate, individual, foundation and discretionary government support for the accomplishment of the District’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Direct all activities related to the generation and stewardship of philanthropic, scholarship and grant support for the El Paso Community College Foundation, including staff support for Foundation work and Grants Management. YEARLY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: PERCENT OF TIME 1. Oversee and support District staff in researching and identifying external funding 25% resources for the District. Provide leadership and facilitate proposal planning, development, budget negotiations, implementation, administration and compliance monitoring for the District. Inform College of available programs and funds; provide assistance regarding policies and procedures and various funding sources which govern assistance applications and agreements. Assist in the development of grants, monitor activities and compliance, maintain records and generate reports on the external funding of the College. 2. Direct all aspects of a development program for the Grants Management Department and the College Foundation to include a comprehensive grant strategy and a major gift program to generate current gifts from corporations, the community, foundations, and deferred gift commitments from individuals to include major gifts charitable gift planning, annual giving, and individual giving initiatives. 20% 3. Provide staff support for the work of the Foundation Board. In collaboration with the Foundation Board, create and implement a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship plan, outlining goals, objectives and activities assuring completion of the plan’s goals and timelines. Identify potential donors consistent with specific resource requirements of the College. Write grants as appropriate to accomplish College and Foundation goals. 20% 4. Coordinate and monitor the activities of the College in identifying students eligible for scholarships or other assistance provided through the Foundation and making and administering such awards. Gather and analyze data on applications and awards to inform Foundation and financial aid strategies and activities. 10% 5. Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate internal and District procedures related to assigned departments. Ensure that District policies and procedures and other applicable laws and regulations are used to guide the activities of the department. Develop and execute various special events intended to generate new prospects or revenue in support of defined priorities. Establish and maintain operational goals, and define budgetary requirements for each developmental activity or event. Develop, monitor and manage assigned budgets. 5% 7. Responsible for personnel management activities for assigned departments. Major functions include recommendations for employment, promotion, evaluating assigned personnel and providing guidance and support concerning personal and professional development. 5% 8. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budget. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field. EXPERIENCE: Nine (9) years related experience in education, education administration, marketing, or business. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of community college administration, fiscal management, community development techniques and group process skills; Comprehensive knowledge of grant development, strategy, implementation and compliance; Comprehensive knowledge of organizing and conducting programs, campaigns and activities to develop financial support for the College and the Foundation; Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit board governance and administrative support; Ability to seek and obtain resources properly and effectively; Excellent communication, written and verbal; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to oversee all phases of grant development; Ability to meet people easily and to solicit a favorable response; Experience making public presentations; Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion. 2.
