Cameron H&PE department names top students
Cameron University’s health and physical education department has named its top students for 2003-2004.
Topping the list is Michelle Wright of Lawton, who was selected as the Health & Physical Education Major of the
Year for 2003-2004. This is the 15th year the award has been presented.
“Michelle is a wonderful example of the standards set forth for those that apply for our major of the year award,” said
Joe Jones, interim chair of the department. “She is extremely pleasant to work with, cooperative, and personally
motivated. She excels academically, athletically, and in leadership areas within the department, university and
community.”
Wright is scheduled to graduate this may and plans to pursue employment in the field of health and physical
education.
Others Cameron students rounding out the group of top five HPER majors were Cory Anderson of Walters, Tommy
Percival of Comanche, Amy Pallmeyer of Clifton, Texas, and Michael Herring of Altus.
Honorees are chosen based on academic performance, citizenship, character, class leadership and participation in
campus, community and professional activities.
“The efforts and contributions of each of these majors to the university are greatly appreciated,” Jones said. “We
congratulate them for their outstanding dedication and hard work over the past few years in achieving this honor.”
