The meeting was called to order and it was determined that there was
quorum. It was also noted that PRI and AECMA-PRO members are nonvoting members to the Nadcap Management Council.
A motion was made to approve the NMC Steering minutes from the July
2004 Nadcap meeting. The motion was seconded and the July 2004 NMC
Steering minutes were approved.

A motion was made to approve the NMC minutes from the July 2004 Nadcap
meeting. The motion was seconded and the July 2004 NMC minutes were
approved.
The following new Nadcap Management Council members were recognized:

PRI Staff member John Barrett was recognized for his contributions to the
IAQG and was presented an award.
The following suppliers were recognized for their contributions to the Supplier
Support Committee:
 Ed Englehard – Owego Heat Treat Inc.
 Stuart Sherman – Metallurgical Processing Inc.
 Jim Cummings – Metal Finishing Co.
Arne Logan was recognized as the outgoing Nadcap Management Council
Chairperson and was presented with the Nadcap Leadership Jacket as well
as the Nadcap Leadership plaque.

PRI/Nadcap Status Report

Arshad Hafeez gave the PRI/Nadcap Status Report. It was noted that the
number of audits projected for 2004 was 2,785 and currently 2,854 audits have
been scheduled for 2004. It was also noted that another 5% reduction in audit
fees will take place for 2005. This makes three consecutive years for a 5%
reduction in fees.

NMC Chairpersons’ Report
Chet Daté gave the NMC Chairpersons’ Report. The report covered the Nadcap
Vision and Strategies, 2004 third quarter metrics review and status, NMC subteams report out, and the Language Team report out. It was noted that the NMC
is building on the successes of 2003 of metrics driven decision making, subteams for efficient operations, as well as energized and fully engaged task

groups, PRI staff and Supplier Support Committee. The priorities for 2005 will be
cycle time reduction and improvement in first pass yield.

Task Group Reports
Welding – The task group will be balloting all AC documents and sending through
the appropriate committees.
NDT – The task group had supplier participation during auditor training, and also
have a group of suppliers who would like to create an NDT supplier sub-team to
help promote supplier participation. Three baseline pilot audits were conducted in
Europe. The task group hopes to publish new standards and checklists by early
next year. Staff Engineer, Jim Bennett, was also recognized for receiving full
delegation at this meeting.
NMSE – The task group started the meeting week working on baseline checklists
and so far have completed a checklist for Nonconventional Machining only. The
task group hopes to have a baseline check list for Surface Enhancements by
next month.
MTL – The task group has been working to reduce cycle time and currently have
no audits in backlog. The task group is currently reviewing slash sheets.
HT – The task group made a request to the NMC due to a situation that arose
due to the Hurricane damage in Florida. A supplier’s facility was destroyed and
the supplier was forced to move to a new location. Currently there is no
procedure to handle this type of natural. It was noted that in the absence of a
procedure PRI could sit down with the supplier and work with the supplier on an
exception case, however the task group must look into the technical fidelity of the
new supplier facility.
FLU – the task group met in September in association with the SAE G3
committee. The task group is working to reduce cycle time and finalizing a slash
six checklist to be balloted this month.
SEALS – The task group will be meeting November 3, 2004 in association with
its SAE counterpart and will be working to revising its checklist.
COMP – The task group welcomed new Primes, Alenia Aeronautica, and RollsRoyce. The task group also conducted a symposium at this meeting and plans to
do another symposium at the January 2005 Nadcap meeting.
CT – The task group has finished their checklists and have balloted them to
Committee B. The task group has also finished a second revision of the checklist
for baseline criteria and is also looking at their auditor handbook for revision.

CP – The task group provided a demonstration of their check list on demand
software and has also reduced their cycle time.
AQS – The task group reviewed NIP-002 appendix 5 for revisions, reviewed
NMC metrics, and discussed the status of AC7004 (AS9003).
FAST – The task group’s mission is to promote standardization of Fasteners in
the Industry. The task group’s goal is to complete a checklist by the end of 2004.
ETG – The task group met in September and conducted its first pilot audit in
August. The task group plans to publish its standard in the first quarter of 2005
and is also planning a second pilot audit in Europe.
WLD – The task group has balloted all of its AC documents and are currently
resolving all comments received.

Supplier Support Committee report
Ed Englehard reported on current SSC activities. These activities included the
following:

 NDT Supplier Sub-Team
 Pre-Assessment Audit Sub-Team
 Escapes Sub-Team
 Supplier Executive Roundtable to be held on January 22-23,
2005 in Tempe, Arizona in conjunction with the Nadcap Meeting

Report on Oversight Audit
Chris Diepenbrock reported on the 2004 Oversight Audit. The 2004 Oversight
Audit was closed in a record time of 58 days. It was also noted that PRI staff
addressed not only all non-conformances but all observations as well.

The next Nadcap Meeting will be held January 24-28, 2005 Tempe, Arizona. The
