Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting

1. Current Projects
a. Vangstad
i. Ray and the City will cut in the drain on the NE corner of the building where the
water has been entering.
b. Flood Wall
i. Meeting yesterday- they will have 8 pours this week. Will keep going until they
get to the music building. 11th of August they will start backfillingii. Ron will request from the city that the No Parking street signs come down until
the project is done so we can have as much parking as possible.
c. Climate Control Upgrade
i. Fred talked with Tony- they are close to being done but still have a few graphics
to enter.
d. McCoy/Snoey Basketball Court
i. In progress- sidewalk is also being replaced.
ii. Will be poured tomorrow.
e. Back Alley
i. Electrical work is done. Border States needs to come measure for asphalt.
f. Hill slide Waterfall
i. No update
g. McFarland 1st floor Water-proofing
i. In progress.
h. President’s House Retaining Wall
i. In progress- mud joints are being put on the rock now.
ii. Should be close to complete by end of the week.
i. Field House Addition
i. Bid opening is 7/30 at 3pm in FS Office.
j. Wellness Center
i. In progress- will be cutting through the driveway of the garage to put in storm
sewer.
k. Heat Plant
i. Ron and Fred toured a plant that makes biomass boilers.
ii. Still working on acquiring property.
iii. Waiting for the rough draft of design from ONE.
l. Circle Hall
i. Enterprise did not come last Friday so they should be here this Friday.
m. SEGS Office Remodel
i. Office area is completed- people are moving back in.
ii. Will carpet the hall up to Dutton’s area and then from 320 to the other end.
n. Training Room Accreditation

i. Mythaler & President’s House Sewer Line
1. Scheduled to start on 8/3- will not interfere with events/students
moving in. Will be finished by 8/7.
ii. Guest suites in McCoy & Robertson
1. Will start once other items are complete around campus. Will carry into
school year.
iii. Robertson/Mythaler Fire Alarm Upgrade
1. In progress- should be close to complete by end of the week. Simplex
need to come out yet.
iv. University Housing 610
1. Should be complete mid-week next week.
p. Campus Lighting
i. Received bids last Thursday. Hi-Line Electric has started working. Should be
completed before school starts.

a. Department Openings
i. Power House position has been filled. Rick Gruman is returning.
b. Maintenance
i. Susan has people moving in on the 4th and 5th that still need work- perhaps have
Nate help today and tomorrow if he’s able, sheet rock will need to be patched.
ii. Need some more communication between Housing to make sure people are
being placed in rooms that are available.
c. Power House
i. The compressor in the student center (B1) is totally shot.
ii. Wrigley’s needs to work on the steam leak in Snoey- Fred and Ron will take a
look and Fred will contact them.
iii. Ready to paint lots- shooting for next week to get that done.
d. Building Services
i. No water has come into Rhoades since it was caulked.
ii. There’s still a smoke detector hanging from the ceiling in Rhoades- Ron will
remind the people who need to fix it to come soon.
iii. Warranty on the plants that have died on the west side of Rhoades? Pat will
take a look at them.
iv. Housing has been working hard trying to get things ready.
